Welcome to North Georgia Labradoodles! We are a small family breeder of Labradoodles located in Northeast Georgia. We are a mother and daughter team and have been breeding top quality dogs for years. We aquired our first labradoodle in 2011 and fell head-over-heels in love with the Labradoodle temperment.
We raise our sweet Labradoodles right here in our home where they can get the love and socialization that they need. Our dogs share our home, occupy our couches, our laps and our beds. Our dogs are not simply a business, they are cherished members of the family. We focus on raising beautiful, loving, healthy, intelligent, allergy and asthma-friendly companions for you and your family. All puppies are raised in our home with individual love and socialization. Our parents are health tested and our puppies come with a one year health guarantee.
We want to provide a Labradoodle that is a cherished family member and we will be here for you with lifetime breeder support! North Georgia Labradoodles breeds standard-sized, multi-generational Labradoodles. Our puppies are bred for temperament, health, personality and – of course – looks! Yes, these puppies are incredibly adorable, but beauty is not the only thing that makes them special. Their cuteness, combined with their inherent intelligence and gentle temperament, makes these puppies completely irresistible.
We believe in producing Labradoodles that will live a happy, healthy life. We think that starts with the parents. We health test before choosing our breeding dogs to ensure the healthiest puppies possible. We test using PawPrint Genetics. Click below to view the testing and results.
First Generation Labaradoodle - F1
A first generation Labradoodle is the product of a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle – 50/50 genetic makeup, this is the first generation of the labradoodle breed. In this Labradoodle cross hair type can be smooth like a Lab or have a wirey look like a Irish wolfhound or Wavy/shaggy. F1 Labradoodles usually shed some or a lot. Pups in the same litter can vary in coat and physical traits. This is not the best cross for people with severe allergies.
As first generation hybrids, these dogs have the added health benefits associated to Hybrid Vigour. This is a phenomenon in animal breeding referring to the first cross between two unrelated purebred lines is healthier and grows better than either parent line.
Coat Maintenance: Low care
Coat Description: Coat grows to about 2-3 inches in length and requires occasional combing. Coats are often hair coats, and others can have wavy or curly coats.
Shedding: light to non-shed
Allergy Friendliness: usually successful in families with mild allergies. When a family has moderate to severe allergies, a backcross Doodle is recommended.
Second Generation Labradoodle - F2
An F2 Labradoodle is often the result of a mating between two F1 Labradoodles. In this instance the resulting F2 puppies are generally the least uniform of all the crosses and the coat and appearance of each pup can vary considerably.
F2's are also produced by mating an F1 with an F3 or 4 etc., this is because one of the parents is an F1, the puppies generation can only move up one place and they will thus be F2's. An F2 produced by mating an F1 with an F3 or F4 will generally have a better coat, than that of an F1 x F1. An F1B/F2B/F3B etc Labradoodle is the result of an F1 (or F2 or F3 etc) Labraadoodle parent being mated by either a Poodle or Labrador - this is usually a Poodle and is done to improve the coat quality (ie: to make it more curly, less shedding).
Coat Description: The coat can be a hair coat, wavy coat, or curly coat.
Shedding: varies greatly from shedders to non-shedders
Allergy Friendliness: Usually successful in families with moderate allergies dependent on coat type.
Multigenerational Labradoodle - Multi-Gen
Multigeneration Labradoodles or Multi-gen – When a Labradoodle is 3 or more generations into the breed they are considered Multigeneration Labradoodles. This allows knowledgeable breeders to refine the personality, physical attributes, and coat types. The Multigeneration Labradoodles are usually allergy friendly and have a more desirable coat in texture and quality. This is the generation that we breed here at North Georgia Labradoodles. We also breed the F2 Generation on occasion as well but our main goal is to produce exceptional Multigeneration Labradoodles using our bloodline.
Coat Maintenance: moderate to high care
Coat Description: Coat continues to grow in length and requires combing and occasional grooming. It is thicker than a first generation Labradoodle and can have a curly, fleece or wavy coat type.
Shedding: almost all are completely non-shedding
Allergy Friendliness: Multigenerational Labradoodles are recommended for families with moderate to severe allergies.
